This Privacy Policy explains how Convert2GIF ("we", "the service") handles data when you use convert2gif.pages.dev or the Convert2GIF Discord bot.

Web Converter (this site)

The web converter runs entirely in your browser. Your images and videos are processed locally on your device using JavaScript and are never uploaded to our servers. Nothing you convert on the website is transmitted to or stored by us.

Discord Bot

When you use the bot's commands, we process the following data temporarily:

Message content — used only to identify and reply to the command.
Attached files — processed only long enough to produce a GIF; files are not stored after conversion.
User and guild IDs — used for rate limiting and to display aggregate statistics (total conversions, server count).

We do not sell, share, or publish any personal data. Conversion counts and server totals are displayed only in aggregate.

Rate Limiting Data

To enforce rate limits we briefly keep a counter associated with your IP address (website) or user ID (Discord). This counter automatically resets after a short window and is not used for any other purpose.

Cookies & Tracking

This site does not use cookies and does not use third-party trackers or advertising.

Infrastructure

This site and bot run on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare's standard edge network may process request metadata (such as IP addresses) in accordance with Cloudflare's own privacy policy while serving the site.

Data Retention

Converted files: not retained.
Rate limit counters: retained only for the active window, then discarded.
Aggregate statistics: retained indefinitely in aggregated, non-personal form.

Your Rights

Because we collect no personal data beyond transient rate-limiting counters, there is no personal data to access or delete. If you have privacy questions, contact the service operator through the support channel associated with the Convert2GIF bot.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
